The fishing area known as Comarca de Los Alerces, is internationally known as one of the most important Salmonidal fishing places in the world, characterized by a big number of original glacial lakes and hundreds of rivers and streams, with a variety of trouts as well as salmons, which were introduced in these habitats 100 years ago from all over the world.

Futaleufu, Corinto, Rivadavia, Carrileufu, Arrayanes, Frey, Nant y Fall, Desaguadero, Corcovado and Pico.
Lakes:
Menendez, Verde, Futalaufquen, Krugger and Vinter.
Lagoons:
Willmanco, Baguilt, Larga and La Zeta.
Others:
the famous spring creek Arroyo Pescado.
These are some of the extraordinary places for fishing that this area offers.
Among the Salmonidal species in the area, there are brown trouts, rainbow trouts, brook trouts, landlocked salmon, and perch (native specie).
An ample offer of fishing waters enclosed in a beautiful mountain landscape almost guarantees visitors the resources and the solitude necessary for amazing fishing days.
Challhuaquen is located in a privileged setting, from where fishermen can cover all these very different areas in not more than 60 miles.
